BKW Goes to CADCA Mid-year
By: Sydney Becknell, Prevention Coordinator
This summer, a representative of the board was able to attend the 2026 CADCA Mid-Year Training Institute in Orlando, Florida. The theme of this event was Powered by Purpose, connecting coalitions across the country to meaningful prevention strategies to be implemented in their communities. This event highlighted how prevention can be adapted to the needs of each community through data-driven, focused initiatives led by community prevention organizations.
BKW KY ASAP was able to glean a great deal of information from key presenters from organizations like the Center for Disease Control, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Deterra, and other agencies dedicated to substance use prevention. Materials from this conference include copies of the presentations, worksheets, and informational one-pagers from displayers at the conference.

BKW KY ASAP is dedicated to implementing these critical prevention materials in our three county region. The prevention and board coordinator are working together to increase connection to local agencies and schools to provide mini-grant funding and educational opportunities.
